Heart disease is the most common cause of death and is one of the most important illnesses causing disability and decreased quality of life worldwide. Heart rhythm abnormalities can cause premature death in the young. In Thailand, sudden unexplained nocturnal death syndrome is second cause of death in young men. Subsequently, we were the first to demonstrate the value of RF ablation for treatment of ventricular arrhythmia and prevention of sudden cardiac death in these Brugada Syndrome and Early Repolarization Syndrome patients.
Because of the aging population, atrial fibrillation is increasingly more common and is one of the major causes of disability in almost every country. Despite enormous advances in the field of Medical Sciences, many questions remained unanswered and discoveries has yet to be fully translate into improvement of care for patients
This research center aims to establish for studying of cardiac arrhythmia (Atrial Fibrillation). Novel research studies which translate into clinical usefulness and improvement in the quality of human life are the goals. Human creativity supported by a clear vision, leadership, collaboration and flexible management are the means to accomplish these goals.

Research & Innovation Focus
Health and Well-Being + Health
Health and Well-Being + Society, Art & Culture
Sustainable Society + Health
Strategic Objectives
To build knowledge base regarding cardiac arrhythmia research that is accepted at the international level
To establish a research center for training clinicians, nurses and scientists in cardiac arrhythmia that is accepted at the international level
Target in 3 Years
To establish a premier research center for cardiac arrhythmias with particular
emphasis on sudden cardiac death in patients without structural heart disease such as Brugada Syndrome, inherited cardiac arrhythmias & ion channelopathy and atrial fibrillation. We are committed to develop our research towards improve clinical outcomes through first class translational research including genomics and proteomics, molecular biology and computational biology and by performing well-designed clinical studies. We are also equally committed to serve as a resource center for the medical community by offering training to scientists, electrophysiologists and cardiologists.
