The entire academic circle of education or military academic circles It is necessary to be aware of these things in order to cope effectively. Because this is the first time a seminar has been held. We hope that next time we will receive even more cooperation from outside institutions. There is also a need for teachers to continue to cooperate in the future.”
Major General, Assistant Professor Manat Thanawanon, Director of the Education Division Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Discusses the purpose of organizing the seminar which is based on awareness of technological change. Military innovation and climate issues that results in impacts on resources and living things Therefore, we cooperate with educational institutions. Organize a seminar to transfer academic experience and knowledge to cadets. Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy
“The Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Academic Exhibition” is a platform for exchanging knowledge on research and innovation for teachers and cadets. To be able to apply further in military and security research. There are works on display from various universities along with works from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. which is held annually
The discussion topic “Future direction of military innovation” was honored by highly qualified speakers in the field of academic education, including:
- Associate Professor Dr. Udomkiat Nonthakaew, Faculty of Engineering King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok
- Associate Professor Dr. Pitchaya Ratchadawong, Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University
- Assistant Professor Dr. Panyawit Wangyao, Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University
- Colonel, Assistant Professor Dr. Natthaporn Nuttayasakul, Department of Civil Engineering Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy
Moderated by Colonel Professor Dr. Suwimon Seniwong Na Ayutthaya, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Under the education department Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy
Associate Professor Dr. Udomkiat Nonthakaew has defined ‘innovation’ as an invention that enters the process of being used, grown, and circulated in a systematic way. Users are the ones who make innovation grow. Because humans have endless needs. And developers must have an understanding of users in order to develop according to their needs. which in terms of the army Weapon developers are often not soldiers. Therefore, users (soldiers) must be the ones who come in and report their needs to the developer. in order to come out as a work that can be useful Through a process of thinking and developing continuously and for a long time. Therefore it will be an innovation that truly meets the needs of users.
In terms of policy for producing innovation and technology Associate Professor Dr. Pitchaya Ratchadawong said, “Universities across the country are facing serious challenges. Previously, there was development of innovation work in the general civilian sector. But in the military sector, that is different. Innovation requirements must be unique and confidential. and cannot publish information This is something that most researchers do not want to develop. But these innovative works are important at the national level. If we continue to develop When there is a problem, we can use it immediately. In my view, every army’s battle plan must be consistent and there must be someone who understands technology as an intermediary in coordination. Soldiers must see themselves as Power Users who know their needs and can communicate or provide useful feedback to developers.”
Chulalongkorn University and Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Has created academic cooperation Organize a Master of Engineering program Department of Defense Engineering and Technology Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University To meet the needs of the nation To bring research knowledge and innovation related to technology and equipment for national defense. Which consists of 7 subjects as follows:
- Subject: Civil Engineering and Explosives
- Subject: Electrical Engineering for National Defense
- Subject: Mechanical Engineering for National Defense
- Subject: Environmental Engineering for National Defense
- Subject: Metallurgical Engineering for National Defense
- Computer Engineering for National Defense
- Nuclear Engineering for National Defense

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pitchaya further said that the National Defense Course Helps answer the learning needs of today’s cadets. Knowledge can be used to further develop the military for national security. Even during a period of peace But when it’s needed, technology must be ready to use. As for the civil sector, it also answers the needs of technology users, such as standard inspections. communicating needs or report the appropriate quality of work according to the needs of citizens and developers which needs arise all the time
The national defense engineering and technology curriculum You will receive a course certificate from the IBM Academic Initiative in the areas of AI, Cyber Security, Cloud, and Beta Analytic, answering the need for a knowledge base that can be developed further.
Colonel Assistant Professor Dr. Natthaporn Nuttayasakul views that the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy’s approach to supporting research and innovation has always been good. By receiving His Majesty’s kindness from His Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn His Royal Highness Prince Kanitthathirachao Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn which His Majesty has supported in all aspects “I think the support from the Royal Military Academy is already good, but we have to see the problem first. Starting with small things first and must have reasons and principles to give confidence to supervisors in order to approve the budget to support operations.”
“In order to come up with a military research innovation that doesn’t keep it on the shelf, we must match “trends” with “threats.” In terms of threats, we cannot think on our own. But there will be an Office of Policy and Planning of the Ministry of Defense to evaluate the potential from the national strategy. Even though we are a country that does not disturb anyone But you must always be proactive and learn from your neighbors’ military innovations. I divided my research into 3 areas: maintaining the condition and increasing capacity. and modernity If you do research and it doesn’t match these things. There will be less opportunity for the military to support further development. Because there is no impact that will answer the questions for further research,” said Col. Asst. Prof. Dr. Natthaporn.
