Photocatalysts for Clean Environment and Energy Research Unit

Photocatalysts for Clean Environment and Energy Research Unit

  • To establish the multidisciplinary collaboration in Chulalongkorn University for the development of photocatalyst materials for clean environmental and energy applications to support low carbon society in the future.
  • To establish the strong collaboration and network for the frontier development of photocatalyst materials and become the leading center of excellence on photocatalyst in Thailand.
  • To produce graduates and researchers to support the clean environmental and energy industries.
  • To produce the international publications, inventions, intellectual properties and to seek for the external research grants for the development and improve the research capability on the photocatalyst materials.

Research & Innovation Focus

NetZero + BCG
Sustainable Society + BCG
NetZero + Disaster & Environment

Strategic Objectives

  1. To support the production of high-quality research related to photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications, responding to the growth and development of low-carbon and sustainable societies.
  2. To promote national and international collaboration opportunities for researchers with expertise in photocatalytic materials and build upon each other's work to produce high-impact research.
  3. To serve as an academic reference and disseminate knowledge regarding photocatalytic materials that are important for the clean environment and energy in the future.

Target in 3 Years

  1. Researchers in the research group can jointly produce high-quality research publications in the fields of energy and environment, published in leading international journals.
  2. Elevate collaboration among researchers within the research group, and expand collaborations to researchers from external organizations, both domestic and international. Activities include co-writing research proposals to apply for joint research grants, organizing knowledge sharing activities, joint academic symposiums, and technology transfer. This is with the goal to develop into a center of excellence in the future.
  3. Create academic and research impact related to photocatalytic materials for energy and environmental applications on society and relevant industries.

Research Highlights

  1. Photocatalysts for environmental remediation
  2. Photocatalysts for CO2 reduction to value fuels and chemicals
  3. Photocatalysts for green H2 production from water splitting
